Toronto, a Foodie Paradise, Gets Even More Heavenly
We get it. It’s a drag to leave the house when it’s too cold. Here’s a two-week Toronto event worth pulling yourself out of hibernation for, though. Winterlicious, a food festival, extends from January 27th through February 9th and offers the opportunity to enjoy Toronto’s culinary landscape whenever your schedule allows. Throughout that time, over 220 of the city’s best restaurants will offer three-course prix fixe menus at three different pricing tiers (lunches: $18, $23, $28; dinners: ($28, $38, $48).
Additionally, a series of special events in Toronto showcase creations by hot chefs, unique cuisines, and food and beverage history. On February 1st at Martinis, Manhattans and Old Fashioneds: Time Honored Classics from the Golden Age of Bartending at Rosewater, mixologist Clayton Cooper offers a boozy history lesson. Enjoy three classic drinks in a speakeasy setting paired with delectable tapas. Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Canadian confederation at Celebrating 150 Years of Canadian Cuisine at Casa Loma on January 28th + 29th and February 4th + 5th. Traditional Canadian classics (including poutine and maple syrup, of course) as well as a roast beef and Italian antipasto beer will be on offer. Locally sourced ingredients will give the meal an especially fresh, authentic taste.
