Georgia O’Keeffe may be one of the most celebrated nature painters of all time. Her instantly recognizable representations of steer horns and flowers, her relationship with major art world personality Alfred Stieglitz, and her long career (she lived to be 99 years old) have shaped her into a legendary American figure. A major Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario, on view until July 30th, includes 80 works by the famed painter as well as landscapes and portraits of the artist herself. The show also delves into the image of the artist herself by including Stieglitz’s portraits (some nude) of O’Keeffe.
The museum will screen Perry Miller Adato’s film portrait of O’Keeffe (the only one she ever allowed to be made) on May 24th and May 26th.
