Spice lovers, rejoice. Caribbean flavors get their due at Toronto’s Centennial Park this summer during Jerkfest. From August 10th–13th, Centennial Park brings jerk vendors (vegetarian options available!), arts & crafts, and live entertainment to Toronto. Plus, a jerk competition allows you to show your stuff at the So You Think You Can Jerk? competition each day.

For an extra-special experience, board the dinner & dance cruise on the 10th, which will kick off the rest of the weekend’s events. After enjoying jerk chicken (of course), escovitch salmon, rice & peas, and vegetables, spend the evening dancing to tunes spun by la local DJ. A cash bar will also be on board. If you’re an R&B fan, take advantage of a meet and greet with platinum record R&B singer, Freddie Jackson, an hour before the ship sets sail.

If you’re interested in how to prepare this type of food yourself, head to cooking demonstrations in the Grace Foods Experience Tent with Chef La-toya Fagon, who’s trained at restaurants throughout Toronto, Europe, and Mexico.
