Much like it’s winter-season counterpart, Toronto’s favorite summer foodie event is well underway this month taking place at select restaurants all around the city. Have you eaten at any great restaurants lately? Are you looking to spice up your summer with just an added bit of extra flavour? If you thought or said “Yes” out loud to both of those questions, then read on, fellow foodie, for a few reasons as to why we recommend experiencing Summerlicious if you’re in town this weekend:
1. Number of Participating Restaurants. Guess how many restaurants are taking part in this two week long event this year? No, really, guess. 200 top venues around Toronto are hosting Summerlicious! With delicious three-course prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus available, you (and your party) can experience a diverse range of tastes and flavours on your own terms, especially by pre-selecting your top preferences.
2. The Summerlicious Photo Challenge. These days, the best meals involve two things: eating, of course, and simultaneously looking through/taking photos of that meal with your phone (hopefully just not on a date). That’s okay, though! This exception to the “rule” is highly encouraged at any of Summerlicious’ hosting restaurants with the Summerlicious Photo Challenge contest. What’s that? Click here for all contest rules. This should be an appropriate read as you finish your meal. While you’re at it, you may also enjoy browsing through this succulent photo gallery.
3. Flavour Diversity. With over 200 restaurants hosting this event, you and your guests are sure to discover at least one dish (or 10 – maybe more, but it’s tough to say for sure) which you’ve never tried before and end up really enjoying, broadening your palate considerably. The options seem endless!
and most importantly…
4. There’s Still Time! Although Summerlicious 2018 has been well underway for quite some time (starting on July 6th, and coming to a close this weekend on July 22nd), it’s not too late to plan a spontaneous outing and enjoy the event before the end of this weekend. You may call restaurants directly or book online, and although reservations are recommended, they are not required. Refer to this information/these F.A.Q.’s for more details.
For all details on this event, and for a complete list of the restaurants involved, please visit the Summerlicious web page on the City of Toronto website.
